What is a book coach?
A book coach is an accountability partner, a developmental editor, a publishing expert, and so much more. A book coach holds their writer accountable to deadlines to keep the writer on track. The coach also keeps up with publishing industry news to give the writer the best advice on how to pitch their book to agents, how to position their book, and how to market it. The coach is also a developmental editor from square one: working with the writer from the basic idea stage and helping them narrow their ideas down into a plan for a book
How much do you cost?
My packages range from $500 to $2,400 depending on the services you’re looking for. Check out my services page for pricing.
What kind of writers do you work with?
I primarily work with nonfiction and memoir writers. I am particularly interested in issues of mental health in memoir and would be delighted to help new writers get traditionally published. However, I have packages available for writers in various stages of their careers.
Who do you not work with?
I do not work with fiction writers at this time. In terms of subject matter for nonfiction and memoir writers, I do not work with Christian/religious books, politically conservative subject matter, or complex mathematical/scientific texts.
How long do I need to work with you to see results?
I recommend a three-month contract for the Accountability and Proposal Packages, but I’m willing to work on a month-to-month basis. The Blueprint and Manuscript Assessment Packages are typically one month contracts, though it may take some time after the month is up to apply what you have learned.
